Getting to Pisa and seeing the sites

When you fly into Pisa, there are trains that run to and from Florence and also to Lucca, but if you want to get around in style then hire a car from Pronto Car Hire.

Pisa Airport Galileo Galilei is the major airport in Tuscany and it is served well by airlines.  You can generally find some great cheap flights to Pisa Airport, so why not then book yourself a hire car to get around.  As you will see by the rest of the posts on this site, there are so many things to do in and around Pisa.

Of course, you have to go to see Torre Pendente the Leaning Tower but that is not all that Pisa is known for.  There is also the Cathedral of Pisa Duomo di Pisa, which contains much fine artwork by major artists.  Furthermore, use your hire car to drive to the Bapistry Battistero which is a large round Romanesque structure.  I would have to recommend climbing to the top of the Bapistry to get a great view of the Leaning Tower. 

The two magnificent town squares are definitely worth a look in Pisa.   If you go here, then you won’t have far to drive to find the shopping district too.
