One of the great advantages of a Pisa airport car hire is the ability to get out and around in the fantastic region of Tuscany. One of the less well known but most beautiful towns in the whole of Tuscany is Viareggio, which is about 24 miles north of Pisa. Set right on the coast, this is as good as it gets for seaside experiences in Tuscany. There are quality shops, very little in the way of tourist tat, and a shared private beach – pop into one of the many bars, restaurants and cafes and you get access onto the pristine shoreline. The marina is a great place to sit and people watch, and the town is very popular and lively in the summer, particularly with the Milanese . It’s a very stylish, understated sort of place which has been well preserved from the tourist explosion. As with most of the Tuscan region, there is culture aplenty for visitors, with the 15th century Guinigi Tower and Duomo di San Martino well worth a visit.

For British visitors, this is the place where the body of Percy Shelley was washed ashore in 1822 after capsizing in a lethal squall during a trip from Livorno to La Spezia.

Looking to hire a 7 seater at Pisa airport ?

Well, you could do a lot worse than consider the current three Ford people carrier models, all of which can transport 7 people and luggage . The Ford S-Max, the Ford C-Max, and an old favourite the Ford Galaxy, all have a lot going for them.

The Ford S-Max is a class leading MPV, with excellent styling and decent performance. Reliability is excellent, and with petrol and diesel models available, this is one people carrier worthy of closer inspection. Capable of lugging 7 people and a load of luggage, the flexible seating arrangement in the S-Max is a great innovation. Handling is taut and the S-Max scored high marls overall in both the What Car and Auto Express reviews in each of the last two years tests.

The newer Ford model , the Ford Grand C-Max, is an updated version of the old 5 seater C-Max model. The Grand C-Max has two additional flip up seats which turn the vehicle into a 7 seater when required. Smaller overall than the S-Max, the Grand C-Max is now one of the most popular MPVs in the UK. It’s handling is easily on a par with the S-Max, and it is less thirsty due to it’s compact size. Where you do compromise though , is in overall internal space, so this one is probably not what you’ll need at Pisa airport if you have a group of 7 people and a lot of luggage. However, if you are arriving in Pisa with a slightly smaller party, then this could very easily be people carrier for you. The Grand C-Max also scores very highly in almost all of the road tests we have seen.

An old friend, the Ford Galaxy, completes the trio. A bigger , more capacious people carrier, the Galaxy has been around for a long time now, and externally it is beginning to look it’s age. However, in terms of space and lugging power, the Galaxy still ranks right up with the best of them. Although the driving experience is not quite as refined or responsive as the other two, the Galaxy makes up for this with the comfort of the seating, the smooth power plants, and the excellent space internally. The Galaxy will easily deal with 7 adult passengers nad a mountain of luggage, and it is claimed that the diesel models deliver close to 50mpg.

So there you have it, three great models, all of which should give you trouble free motoring during your stay in Italy.

Pronto should be your first port of call for Pisa airport car hire vehicles, and in particular if you are looking for a 7 seater car hire at Pisa airport, why not bookmark this page and come back to Pronto again.

Have a fantastic trip !

In a very old alleyway in the core of Pisa lies the Ristorante Gallileo. Where the old Gallileo stood the new pizzeria has taken it’s place. The interior has a quaint arched roof and looks like you have stepped back in time but far from being old fashioned, the Gallileo is warm and welcoming and has an amazing list of absolutely fantastic pizzas for you to choose from. You will be spoiled for choice and I think the only cure is to try as many of these delicious pizzas as you can! The pizzas are cooked in a wood fire oven, need I say more?

There are many, many sights to see and but of course, the main attraction will always be the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The Tower was started in 1173 and completed in 1350 and was originally going to be the bell tower of Pisa Cathedral. It was meant to be perfectly vertical but began leaning during construction because of subsidence. As late as the year 2001 was when a successful solution was found to stop the Leaning Tower from actually collapsing . Before the restorative building work was completed, the Tower leant at an angle of 5.5 degrees, but this has now been successfully reduced to around 4 degrees. Standing at a height of 54 metres. the Tower has 294 steps leading up through 8 storeys via a spiral stairway. If you want to enjoy the panoramic views from the top then you are going to require the following : a reasonable level of fitness and a ticket ! It is better to book tickets online at 17 euros, but you can turn up on the day of your visit and purchase tickets. Just be aware that if you choose this method then you could be waiting for a couple of hours before you get entry to the Tower.

Located in Campo dei Miracoli or Field of Miracles, the Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of many buildings worth a visit including the Cathedral, the Baptistry, the Sinopie Museum, the Monumental Cemetary and the Museo del’ Opera del Duomo. Spend a few hours soaking up the special atmosphere and enjoy watching the world go by at one of the many open air cafes and bars . All in all, a very pleasant , if touristy, experience.

It is a smooth reliable all rounder with armchair seats in 7 or 8 seater configuration and returning around 30 – 40 mpg depending on the model selected. There is also a pretty fair amount of space for luggage. Recommended.

Traveling will require some work from you before you can finally relax. By having the necessary information and an understanding on how to get started, it helps make it easier on you to plan a trip. Read on for great information to get you started on your travel plans.

A desert contains lots of interesting places to look at as well as animals most people never get to see in their lives. Deserts offer a special experience for the first time visitor. It should be the goal of anyone interested in the world to experience the wonder of the desert at least once.

Do not go to a currency exchange if you can help it. A better option exists to get your hands on the local currency. You can go to a bank ATM and get foreign currency. These usually offer better exchange rates and are much less expensive than an exchange.

If you are a visitor to foreign cities, keep your eyes open for thieves that might be dressed as law enforcement or government personnel. You must not give anyone your original passport; it may be gone for good if you do. If you are made to go to an office, do so by foot. Do not get into a vehicle with someone that you do not know.

Have some of your cash exchanged for the local currency before you leave the airport. Trying to get currency changed on your trip can be difficult, especially if you arrive after business hours. Many large banks can sell you foreign money, so head there prior to going the airport.

If you are told a hotel has no more rooms available, ask if they have a room that is out of service. Peeling paint or a dirty rug are not likely going to turn you off enough to avoid to staying in that room!

Make sure that you are aware of any political or social situations for any destination that you are planning to visit. Your government’s consular authorities are likely online; a quick visit to their website will tell you if there are any developments of concern that might affect your trip. This is useful when you want avoid any trouble.

As was mentioned earlier, planning and executing a trip requires a large number of decisions, and many find the job of travel planning to be somewhat intimidating. You can greatly simplify the process of making successful travel plans, however, by obtaining the right knowledge and travel advice. Apply the advice in this article and be on your way to making great travel plans.

We’ve started this post as a way of keeping you updated with all the best retaurants, cafes and eateries we can find in and around Pisa. It’s a tough job , but we don’t mind , stuffing our faces in the best ( and worst) joints in Pisa. and reporting back here. Obviously, this list is not exhaustive, but we’ll update it regularly as new places open, and we’ll always try to be fair and objective – especially if we don’t get a bill at the end of the meal……… OK – only joking !

Firstly – eating in any of the restaurants looking onto the Leaning Tower – basically don’t do it unless you have to – typical tourist muck and a complete rip off. Walk away from the Tower in the direction of the railway station, and within 5 or 10 minutes you’ll be glad you did.

So here we go – please understand, we can’t really say one place is number 1 in all of Pisa, but what we can say is that the following restaurants are pretty great in their own different ways :

Antica Trattoria il Campano , on Via Cavalca is famous for it’s Tuscan menu – if you’re a meat or fish lover you’ll not be disappointed. There’s also a great selection of wines and the desserts are fantastic. It’s pricey, but it’s worth it. Open from 12.30 to 3.00PM for lunch 19.30 TO 22.45 for dinner , but closed for lunches on Wednesday and Thursday . Best to reserve a table. Tel : 050580585

Gambero Rosso . If you have taken advantage of a cheap car hire from Pisa airport, and you feel like really pushing the boat out, why not drive the short distance to Livorno and sample the fare at one of Italy’s finest restaurants : Gambero Rosso. This 2 Michelin star establishment is quite simply breathtaking – and so are the prices, but don’t let that put you off. For a truly memorable dining experience, you’ll be hard pushed to beat this place. The cuisine is truly creative and quite modern in style, the wine list is superb and fairly priced, and the service is excellent without being obtrusive. Based right in the heart of the historical port of San Vicenzo, it’s closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 27th October to 10th January. Advance reservations are nearly always necessary .

Travel Next Time With These Useful Tips In Mind

Seeing a new continent, country or city can be overwhelming and exciting, even for regular travelers. Read this selection of tips for travel advice before starting your next travel adventure.

When packing for a journey, consider choosing dark clothing, particularly for pants and dresses. By keeping your wardrobe on the darker side, you will more easily hide dirt and wrinkles, which are common components of travel. As long as you keep your accessories bright, you should avoid looking too plain.

Plan ahead for international travel by obtaining electrical currency adapters prior to the day of departure. It’s best to purchase one before you leave, because you will pay much more if you wait until you reach your hotel.

When traveling to other countries, pack bottled water. Drinking water in a foreign country can lead to stomach problems. You even need to use bottled water when you brush your teeth. Using tap water can get you sick, no matter how you use it.

Sleeping pills can help get you through a long flight. For many people, sleeping on a plane is almost impossible, between the uncomfortable seats and the noise level. If you have anxiety about flying, get your doctor to prescribe sleeping medicine to get you through your flight. Take the pill during the flight, and not beforehand, in case there is a problem and you do not take off.

Make sure you pack some candles if you are going to be visiting a hotel. You can make a generic hotel room smell more like home with use of scented candles. Using the same scent you would use at home, may help you go to sleep more quickly in an unfamiliar place. Many companies make these candles in convenient small sizes and without any waxy drips.

By remembering the tips in this guide, you will surely be able to discover new and exciting things on your vacation. No matter how many times you have traveled, your next trip can be a magical one.
